Reverie began as a failure of memory. We had been trying to photograph one particular morning for years, and the morning kept refusing. So we described it instead, to a machine that had never seen one, and what came back was closer than any of the negatives had been.

Every frame is generated, then treated the way a print is treated: graded warm against cool, held until the grain settles, numbered, hung. We cull more than we keep. Of the eleven frames in this series, three never leave the archive, one is reserved for the opening, and seven make the wall.
